BIBAC team

The BIBAC team (“Biomolecule Interaction with Biomimetic soft matter and Analytical Chemistry”) develops analytical tools and strategies in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry (MS), possibly coupled with separation techniques, such as capillary electrophoresis and high-performance liquid chromatography. The team primarily focuses most of its research activities on the chemistry-biology interface.

The researchers are particularly interested in the oxidation phenomena induced by reactive oxygen species. This involves elucidating oxidation mechanisms of molecules of biological interest, studying peptide-lipid oxidative interactions and exploring the response from the metabolome to a stimulus (inflammation, oxidative stress, etc.), linked to neurodegenerative diseases.
The team also develops original analytical methodologies for the study of complex assemblies and their chemical or photochemical modification. These methodologies play a crucial role for the development of new analytical strategies.
